Location and Infrastructure
The Sombrero Projects is located 340 km southeast of Lima, Peru, and is accessible via a one-hour flight from Lima to Ayacucho, followed by a four-hour drive toward the towns of Huancasancos and Lucanamarca. The Project has excellent infrastructure, with paved roads throughout, high-tension power lines, and multiple water sources.

Geologically, Sombrero lies in the northwestern Andahuaylas-Yauri belt, home to major Eocene-Oligocene copper-gold porphyry and skarn deposits, including Las Bambas, Haquira, Los Chancas, Cotambambas, Constancia, Antapaccay, and Tintaya (see analog comparisons here).
