Overview and Highlights

The Sombrero Project was initially acquired in 2015 due to its favorable location and the historical data associated with part of its concessions. It is situated in the northwestern extension of the prolific Andahuaylas-Yauri belt, which hosts major Eocene-Oligocene copper-gold skarn and porphyry deposits such as Las Bambas, Haquira, Los Chancas, Cotambambas, Constancia, Antapaccay and Tintaya.

Over the past 10 years, the Company, through its predecessor and more recently Coppernico, assembled a considerable land position covering approximately 56,400 hectares of prospecting concessions. It has also secured a multi-year social access agreement that permits exploration and drill testing of the property for significant skarn and porphyry-style copper-gold discoveries.

The ~56,400 hectares are located about 340 kilometres southeast of Lima, Peru. They were evaluated through an extensive stream sediment program in a volcanic covered region of the Andahuaylas-Yauri belt, primarily selected due to elevated levels of overlapping copper and gold located in drainages from nearby topography (seeĀ Technical Report).

The Sombrero project is characterized by multiple mineralized intrusive centers with significant copper and gold values from surface samples. The principal targets at Sombrero are copper-gold skarn, porphyry systems and precious metal epithermal systems.
